It's never too soon to say.....SANTA IS COMING!

Thanksgiving was a success!  My tummy is STILL full.  We had good friends and family over for Thanksgiving, and we had a great day!  Though cooking is a week long event, it's so worth it in the end.  Every year I say the same thing after dinner, "I am not cooking again next year!" But, I always do : )

With that said, even before Thanksgiving I am already thinking about....

CHRISTMAS!

Since I was a little girl, I would make my "wish list" from our mail order catalogs that mom and dad received  every year.  Mom liked that idea, it gave her a sense of what Judy wants the "most" and wants the "least."  I have to say Christmas has always been special in our house.  Mom and dad always made Christmas the BEST time of year for me.  I hope to pass that down to Destini.  All I want for Christmas is to see her happy, as my parents did for me.

Well, now times have changed when it comes to shopping.  I still get all the catalogs in the mail, but now we have the beauty of "online shopping."  I like that a lot, but it doesn't totally prevent me from the crowds in the stores, and actually that is still kinda fun too : )

I was thumbing through one of the catalogs I received and I found something that caught my eye and that I had been wanting for a long time.  I thought this is the perfect time this year to buy it and was so excited to call Mr. Camel and tell him that I finally found the one I want.  We could call it my "Christmas present from him."  (Though I would love those Paula Deen or Rachael Ray pots and pans, honey...hint hint Mr. Camel).

Before I knew it, I was ordering and purchasing!  I was so excited about it, until I checked my email the next day and it said, "sorry, this item is on backorder."  And, the shipping date is not expected until Jan. 11, 2011!  Disappointed to say the least, as I really wanted it before Christmas : (  But I'll wait anyway : )

I KNOW, RIGHT?  IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT TO DECORATE!

It was my birthday this month!  I am 46 years old.  I'm not ashamed to say it, I don't feel 46!  I think that is in large part due to Destini, who keeps me young mentally and physically!  I woke feeling like just another ordinary day.  I am not "big" on birthday's, it's just a number for me.  Mr. Camel, however, is "BIG" on any kind of holiday!  My day started off like any other day, which he knew it would.  I usually get out of bed between 7-7:30am every morning.  Mostly because one of my cats (Muffy) isn't going to let me sleep any longer than that because her tummy is on "tuna time."  They always get tuna in the mornings!  Then I brew my java for the morning.  By that time, Destini is waking up.  Booty change for Desi, a Sippy cup of milk or juice, and SpongeBob is her routine for the next 30-45 minutes, until breakfast.  That gives Judy some "me time" to check out the world news, celebrity gossip, and of course, Facebookin! When I got to my office with coffee in hand, I find a little sumpin sumpin on my keyboard....

Hmmmm...FOR ME? What could it be....

My Zodiac... Sagittarius!!!!

THANK YOU HONEY, IT'S PERFECT!

But, the BEST part of my birthday was later in the day when Mr. Camel texted me a picture of a little girls piano at one of his customer's house!  Why you ask?  Well, it just so happens we had decided to get Destini this particular piano for Christmas that I found online.  When he texted me this picture, I seriously think I passed out for a minute.  It was so incredibly close to the one we were going to purchase, and this nice lady told Mr. Camel, "take it, it's yours!" SAY WHAT?  These are not cheap!  Just so you get an idea of the one we were going to buy and the one we actually got, I have a pic for ya:

The one we were going to buy

Baby Gaga's piano!

Cousin Semaj is teachin...
All I can say is, "THANK YOU nice customer lady for bringing a smile to my face on my birthday!"

So, since she now has a piano we had to decide about Christmas again.  We decided on a BIG TOY BOX, but don't tell Destini....shhhhhh, she hasn't given Santa her list yet!  I am looking for a "princess" type toy box, which I am sure I will find.  I am a woman on a mission!

Thanksgiving weekend, my sister-in-law, Yolanda, was having one of her best friends from Pasadena coming out to visit with her hubby.  I was excited to meet Dale.  I have heard about her for the last 13 years! Though, I have been to Pasadena many times, I had yet to meet one of her "school friends."

SIDEBAR:  Yolanda is actually my husband's sister-in-law, thereby making her my sister-in-law.  Yolanda is my husband's brother's (Jermaine) ex.  They have a child together, Semaj.  I met Yolanda at the first family function that hubby took me to, which was in fact our very first date!  We had an instant connection for some reason and have been inseparable since that time.  Unfortunately, Jermaine has, shall we say "lost his way" in life and has had many problems and issues; that, I myself, believe in him and pray that he will find his way back one day.  I love Jermaine, but I love Yolanda and Semaj more!  I have helped Yolanda raise Semaj since he was not even quite 2 years old at the time.  Her and Semaj moved into my home early on (NO, I DID NOT LET JUNEBUG MOVE IN)!  It would have been easy for Yolanda to just move back to Pasadena to be near her own family, but she stuck it out, got her an excellent job, and made herself a home here in Phoenix.  Since I worked from home, I took care of Semaj while she worked.  Sometimes, if I had things to do, he would go to daycare, maybe 4-6 days a month...LOL!  My husband is also from Pasadena and he grew up around Yolanda and her family.  I have traveled a many of the I-10 freeway to California to spend time with Yolanda's family.  Her family became my family, especially her mom, Paulette (I call her P. Diddy).  Her family moved from Pasadena to Palmdale, so I really didn't get to meet many of Yolanda's friends from Pasadena, only the ones from Palmdale.  P. Diddy was my "road dog."  I have had a lot of fun times with her!  She was the "cool" mom every kid wanted.  Whereas my mom was the "Leave It To Beaver" type mom.  I remember saying to Yolanda once that how fun for her to have a mom who refuses to grow old.  Yolanda said to me, "not really."  It's funny how we idolize one persons mom and they are idolizing yours.  Yolanda had a deep connection with my mom, and she loved the "traditional" in my mom.

ME AND YO (1998)
P. Diddy, unfortunately, fell into a coma 3 years ago after having a stroke at home by herself.  Due to the lack of oxygen to her brain for so long, it left her comatose.  Though P. Diddy is still alive, well her heart is still pumping anyway, I know that this is NOT "living" for her.  However, Yolanda's father is STILL not ready to make final decisions and for that, we have to respect it.

The next year, when my mother was terminal, Yolanda immediately left her job, her and Semaj moved in with me, and she stayed by mom's side day and night until her last breath!

Yolanda is more of a sister to me than my own sister.  I am not saying that to be hurtful to my sister, it's just a true fact!  My sister didn't even spend day and night with my mother, nor did my brother come home!

So, that's the story of Yolanda and Semaj....thought I needed to share that before I proceeded!  Here's a little slide show of Semaj, me, and Yo..

So, as I was saying, I finally was going to be meeting one of Yolanda's school friends; and that was exciting for her that Dale was coming to Phoenix, and I was excited for her!

Dale and Yo....throwback!

Dale and Yo....TODAY!

Dale and her hubby, Paul!
Dale, me, and Desi!
We had a fabulous time at dinner with Dale and Paul.  It was a pleasure meeting them.  GOOD PEEPS!
Looking forward to their next visit.  I think we have made tentative plans for a trip to the Grand Canyon on their next visit here....FUN!

Well, to wrap up our weekend, Mr. Camel has opened the sheds and released the Christmas "Clark W. Griswold" in him!  Our house will no doubt be the brightest on the block.  What's awesome is it has remote control to all the lights so I can shut him down when he won't stop fidgeting with it.  He is already on day 2 as of this morning!  I love him at Christmas more than ever!

BIG SANTA!

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.....

Mom always said, "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it."  During the summer months, I was so slow with work that I really just got to be a full-time mom, cook, clean, all those good housewifely duty things.  Now that I am working for Emory in Atlanta...fuhgettaboutit!

My house is upside down, the baby thinks "mama" is Dora The Explorer because she's now a Nickelodeon baby.  Me cooking is out of the question lately and she has become a fan of Mac n Cheese and Spaghetti-Os....(hanging my head in shame, *guilt*).  I am happy and blessed to be working.  It's challenging (right now) because Emory University is certainly a whole lot bigger than Cigna Health Care Systems.  However, my home is suffering.  No dinner for hubby when he gets home these days.  He has been doing all the cooking lately, or we just eat out (a lot).  I actually found a cobweb hanging off my grandfather clock this week, ok, now that's bad!  I took the time this last Friday to at least do some light cleaning around here; that means I cleaned the cobweb...LOL!  Don't judge me....

Today, while I am blogging, I am doing about 10 loads of laundry!  My sister-in-law, Yolanda, who was here yesterday, said to me, "I don't feel sorry for you because you have a washing machine and a dryer at your fingertips."  True that, but I'M BUSY......prolly facebookin, LOL!  No, honestly, I haven't been facebooking nearly as much as I used to be able to, just like not keeping up with my blogging.  I work nights and for some reason, it feels like there are just not enough hours in the morning before I have to sign on to work to get everything done.  By no means am I lazy I just need a couple more hours in the morning but somehow, without having to get up earlier?!

Lately, this is really all Bug gets to see of me.  I guess that's why he took the picture, to remember me by.  Most nights, by the time I finish working, he is already in bed snoring.  So usually every night he just sits behind me in my office watching me work, for about an hour....oh NOT to watch me, what I meant to say is sit in the massage chair that sits behind my desk and get a massage for an hour until he falls asleep and starts snoring, and then I kick him out!!!!

We finally got Destini's pictures back from Olan Mills.  Though I was highly pissed off that day at Olan Mills since we had a 3 oclock appt and we didn't get her pics taken until 5:30, I am always happy with the quality that we get from their photographs.  Thank the Lord in heaven that Destini is such a good baby and, very patient that day!  Here are a few of my favs:

                                  I know......SHE'S SO DARN CUTE!!!!!

Speaking of Destini, she is a BOTTLE-FREE BABY!  She is a big girl and takes only a Sippy Cup!  Yeah for you baby!  Now the pacifier, that will be a whole different ball game around here....she may graduate from college with one in her mouth.....just sayin.

AND, still speaking of Destini, AND because I am so behind in blogging, I have yet blogged about her Halloween costume.  We decided to stay home and let her pass out candy instead of take her trick or treating.  She is after all only 1 years old and me and Bug would just end up eating a bunch of junky candy that neither of us need anyway, not to mention we had plenty of our own leftover candy as we really didn't have too many kids this year  :/  So baby girl sat outside with big daddy (as I had to work) with their pumpkin and candies!

Here's some pics of our little lion......

NOTE THE BINKEY (PACIFER)!!!

The beauty of working at home is getting to watch my fav TV shows when I want to!  I am totally in to the Apprentice, Desperate Housewives, Two and a Half Men, 16 and pregnant, Meet the Browns, Dateline, 48-hours Mystery, and always, always, always Dr. Phil.  So for all you Dr. Phil haters out there, DO NOT COMMENT.  If you don't have anything nice to say about Dr. Phil, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!  For those of you that watch like myself, read on....

Okay, I am really into the Dr. Phil Housewives saga.  I find each and every one of these ladies fasciniting in their own unique way.  They are all complete opposites with one common denominator...ISSUES!  That's why it's relateable.  Don't we all have issues or an issue, or have had to deal with an issue at some time in our life?  How we work it out is another story.  (Sidebar:  Not all of them are married, it's just called Dr. Phil's housewives).  I have a strong dislike for one of the ladies, she's incredibly arrogant.  I have one that I like best.  One that is so reserved that I don't know what she wants.  And one that thinks she is way hoter than she is, and baby, that's prolly why you aren't married yet at 35!  And then there is one who I am crazy about her and not crazy about her, she's workin my emotions.  Lastly, one of them is killing me with the pity party....enough already, shit or get off the pot.  I'm just sayin!

Since I won't reveal who is who, maybe you should tune in and figure out for yourself which one belongs with what personality.  If you watch already, then it should be a no-brainer by my descriptions above for you who is who.  Here are the ladies I am following regularly on Tuesday nights on the Dr. Phil show....

All last week, some friends and I were planning a surprise for my GF Maria for her birthday.  Well, it was actually her hubby, John, who created the idea and started it off for us ladies to run with.  And, it was also John's wonderful idea that we should do it at Turf Paradise this past Sunday.  The horses were sooooo beautiful!  I am not into the racing for the one reason that happened while we were there.  I believe it was the second or third to the last race that one of the horses broke his leg.  That's not a pretty site to see when you love animals so much.

And as hard of a time as I had with it, my GF Maia had a much worse time handling it.

Well, besides that, it was a beautiful day, and, as I said, the horses were stunning to watch and look at their beauty and grace.

And, we accomplished what we set out to do.  We SURPRISED Maria!

Junebug played photographer and said to me on the way home, "I am so happy to see you happy and it watch you spend the day with such good friends."  He and John really did let us girlzzzz just do our thang without so much as a peep or squaller out of either one of them.  Those two are some DARN GOOD MEN!!!  I had a great day with my gals and can't wait to see them again for our next round....

Maia, Maryann, Katie, Maria, and Me
                                                       I love these gals!!!!!

BACK HOME AFTER A PERFECT DAY

My sister-in-law came to babysit Destini while we were at Turf Paradise.  I thank her so much for that as that was really the first day away from Destini for me in 5 months, and she made it easier on me knowing she was here to watch her.

With that said, this morning she has been threatened by me with acts of physical violence against her if she EVER GIVES MY HUSBAND ANOTHER PIECE OF GUM!  As she was leaving our home last night, she takes out some gum from her purse and politely asks if anyone wants some.  Hubby for sure did.  Ok, no problem there.  My husband can, after all, "walk and chew gum" at the same time.  What my husband CANNOT do however is, "sleep and chew gum."  He's still smackin that gum when he went to bed last night, apparently.  This morning I found his gum....

UNDER HIS ARM AND DOWN HIS SIDE!!!!

I KNOW, EWWWWWWW

They are both damn lucky it didn't get on my sheets or my goose down comforter, or worse, IN MY HAIR!!!  I love him, I swear I do!

So, were heading on to the next holiday for us this month.  Thanksgiving.

Nine years of marriage, and counting....

November 1, 2001.  I remember it well.  It was a perfect morning, a perfect afternoon, a perfect evening....except for one minor, oh MAJOR disaster.  The photographer was sick and never showed up!!!

So, all my memories are pretty much in my head.  Though Mr. Camel would like to do it all over again, I say toooooooo much money and I have learned to just accept it.  But, it sucks!  Plus, we're both a whole lot fatter now....jus sayin!

Again, I have memories in my mind.  It still was a perfect day.  Though it wasn't my first marriage, it was Mr. Camel's first marriage.  It was way exciting for him; me too, but really emotional for him.  And, although I will see him look at me crazy later after he reads this, he cried during our vows.  Even though no pictures or video of it, THAT WAS PRICELESS!  A lasting memory in my mind.

I so don't give Mr. Camel the credit he is due every day and what he does for me and what he means to me.  We get so caught up in our day to day lives that we sometimes forget to say what is most important, well at least I do.  He makes much more an effort than I do.  But things I don't say every day, I will say now....

From the minute I first him, not a day has gone by when I have not thought of him.   When I first told him I loved him, he was speechless.  After he told me he loved me for the first time, he has NEVER stopped saying it to me every day.  Whenever I am in pain, he is the first person I want to turn to.  When he smiles, it still makes my heart skip a beat.  The expression in his eyes when he really looks at me makes me "weak" in my knees.

I never "appreciate" all the things he does to make our life as good as it is - when I know that I should.  I know that I can trust him completely with everything.  He cares for me in a way that I probably do not deserve.  Your faithfulness and loyalty is what every woman wants, in you I have that.

When I see him with Destini, I melt like butter.  The way he loves her is the way he loves me, unconditional and to the death!  Or as he would say, "til the wheels fall off."  We are always safe with him here.

We have been through so much together.  We have shared so much together.  I cannot imagine living my life without him, though I know at times my actions speak differently.

If I am guilty of wearing my heart on my sleeve for him, it is only because I never want there to be any doubt in his mind as to the core of the feeling I have for him....yeah, you Mr. Camel.  I know that I have never loved any man more.

My mom and dad would be so proud of you.  They asked you to take care of me and make their home your home, and you have done nothing else but live up to your word and your promises.

I truly love you and look forward to every anniversary with you until I die.

Happy Anniversary, MRS. CAMEL

HE LIKES IT LIKE THAT.....LOL!
