ROAD TRIP!!!!!!  WOO-HOO!!!!!!  Okay, so Queen Creek is only about an hour and 15 minutes from my house, but to me (I'm an indoor gal as you know)...that was a ROAD TRIP!!!!!  Junebug laughed at me as I was packing stuff for the baby to take on our day outing to the farm.  Yeah, it was kinda funny; but you NEVER know and a mom MUST always be prepared!

Somone thought she was gonna do the driving there

So the truck is packed and we are ready to go.  My sister in law, Yolanda, went with us, as did some friends of ours, Marcus and Maeloni.  Yolanda rode with us, because, quite naturally, she wants to be wherever Destini is....WHAT A SHOCK!  Marcus and Maeloni followed along with us in their car, and me feeling confident in Bug's driving skills and directions, as he drives to Queen Creek probably once a week, I knew we were in good hands.   Wellllllll......maybe not:

In the truck, he has a GPS...check!  Both of our phones have GPS...check!  We actually have no problem getting to Queen Creek, however the GPS hasn't a clue where Schnepf Farms is located once you get to Queen Creek.  I won't go into a whole lot of detail, but it was comical and it finally took for us to call the farm and talk us there....

Once there (we had bought our tickets in advance which were $12 dollars each).  It seemed like a fair price to me, wellllll before we got there anyway.  I really wasn't as impressed with Schnepf Farms as I thought I would be.  Also, it didn't help that I picked a Sunday when it was 98 degrees outside.  It was quite hot, sticky, and STINKY from the animals.  Regardless, we made a day of it and made sure it was about making memories for Destini.  Next year, however, we are open to any and all suggestions if you know of a great pumpkin patch outside of Phx to go to.

Since it didn't seem very "appetitizing" eating out at the Farm, we decided to come back into Phoenix and go out to an early dinner.  Hot wings were on everybody's mind, so we decided to go, where else?  PULLANO's!  If you live in the Valley, I encourage you to make Pullano's a restaurant of choice.   Not only are their hot wings to die for, but their entire menu is SUPERB.  Anything you order Italian, I promise you won't regret.
As we were being seated and getting settled, I hear "Judy"...."Judy".  It was so crowded so I was looking around, and lo and behold......

I told you John, you can run but you can't hide from me....I'll always be one step behind you....LOL!!  What a great surprise that they were there!

Sidebar:  I am so far behind in my blogging, be kind...I am gonna catch up I promise!

Dear Destini:

You're one years old, your a big girl now!  To say "I love you" is an understatement.  Before you were even born, you were loved, you were wanted, you stole my heart.

I can’t believe you just turned one this past Sunday.  In some ways it feels like just yesterday I saw your beautiful little face for the first time, and in other ways it seems like you’ve always been a part of my life, a part of me.

Over the last year I’ve watched you grow from this tiny new life to this sweet, curious, smart baby girl that you are.  I’ve watched you learn so much this first year of your life- how to roll over, crawl, hold your baba, sit up, splash in the bathtub, babble, and shake your groove thang (dance)!

But, I’ve learned even more about myself this last year.  I’ve discovered that the heart truly knows no bounds, that love is infinite, and that I have more strength and patience than I have ever known.  The diapers and late nights are a very small price to pay to hold you in my arms everyday.

This year has not been without its trials, and you will never know how hard I fought for you to be with me.  I need you to know that it is because of everything you are, and will be, that I fight so hard for you.  When you crossed my path, I knew from the start we were "soul sistas" and you were meant to be the biggest part of my life and that you would have the biggest impact on my life that I would ever endure.

Before you came along, I really thought the pages in my book were finished.  You have given me a reason to make sure that there are a whole lot more chapters in my life and that you will always keep me young.  You have awakened another level of being me.  You made me think about life in a different perspective.  You made me think about life beyond my own and its consequences.

For the rest of my life, I will always be there to hold your hand, wipe your tears away, make sure you know how loved and how proud of you I am.  Watching you grow and learn is the greatest gift for me, and I look forward to exploring everything with you in the future as you continue your learning experience in this big old world.  Forever I will protect you and forever I will support you in whatever you do.

Tomorrow is a brand new day and I can't wait to see what new things you have in store.  I look forward to every day with you.

Destini's first year....

Yes, yes, it's true!  I said goodbye to Cigna Healthcare in Phoenix, Arizona and hello to Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia.  As scared as I was about making this move (I've been with Cigna over 8 years), I am so incredibly happy (so far) that I did.  I just completed my first 2 weeks with them, and I am really really enjoying the work.  It has been challenging and will continue to be so since I know nothing about Atlanta Georgia, the surrounding areas, the doctors, the clinics, etc, etc.  But, thank goodness for Google, right?

My real reason for making this move was more workload, thereby bigger paycheck.  They are extremely busy all year round, unlike Cigna here in the Valley which fluctuates and has been dragging for years now.  I think this is a great move for me career-wise at this time.  Wish me luck!

Don't forget, I get to work from home so I didn't have to move to Georgia or anything.  They sure talk funny there....LOL!  Actually, it's quite nice because you just feel that southern hospitality in some of the physicians and nurses voices.  I feel like I'm listening to Paula Deen talk all day, and I can live with that!

Although I am happy to be busy at work again, I realize now just how much time I had before on my hands to spend with Destini.  She is being a really good girl about it.  Though I don't want her to be raised by the television, it certainly has come in handy about right now.  My new BFFs are SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer.  They keep her very entertained for a few hours.  By the time Bug gets home from work, he takes her off my hands (well sorta) and then I can get a few more hours of work in.

This is just another reason for me to have so much respect for single parents!!!  SERIOUSLY!!  BIG PROPS!

FOOTBALL SEASON HAS BEGUN.  I know this for a few reasons.  First of all, hubby isn't so interested in sleeping in on Sunday's anymore.  He's up and at it bright and early, ready for football to begin.  Now although his heart is with Tampa Bay, he certainly is an AZ Cardinals fan like myself.  I really only like to watch if the Cardinals are playing, but I will catch a different team here and there.  Also, when football season comes around hubby likes to break out the grill a little more often.

For first game day, he made burgers, hot links, chicken breasts, and carne asada with a side of pinto beans with roasted green chilis and some mac n cheese.

He invited some of his buddies over to his "man cave" and they chowed down.  I quickly stole a plate before they got their grubby lil hands all over everything...hee hee hee!  I watched the game in my office, I'm secretly watching Fitzgerald's booty..shhhhhh

Here's to a GREAT football season, no matter which team you root for!!!!!
