HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS; YET SANTA ALWAYS PREVAILS!

Narrated in my Boris Karloff voice:

The Grinch (voiced by Boris Karloff) is the film's main character. He lives in a cave in the fictional Mt. Crumpit, located above Whoville. The Grinch is a surly character with a heart "two sizes too small" who has especially hated Christmas. The Grinch, determined to STOP Christmas in Whoville, dons his Santa suit and heads to Whoville on Christmas Eve to steal all the boys and girls gifts.

Poor Max, his doggie, innocent as he is, had to be his reindeer and lead the sleigh into Whoville.  Well, he sorta kinda "hitched him a ride" on the sleigh, and Mr. Grinch didn't like that much...LOL!

After they arrive in Whoville, with their sleigh of empty bags to steal the gifts, in the first house he arrives in he encounters Cindy Lou, who awakens when she thinks she hears Santa in the living room.
The Grinch tells Cindy Lou that he is merely taking the tree to his workshop for repairs, and then sends her back to bed. He empties the first house of all the food and Christmas-related items, then repeats the process at the other houses in Whoville. He also takes the Village decorations.

With the Whos' stolen Christmas goods, the Grinch and Max travel back up Mt. Crumpit. Before dropping the loaded sleigh off the mountain, the Grinch waits to hear a sad cry from the Whos. However, down in the Village, the Whos joyously begin to sing Christmas carols, proving that the spirit of Christmas does not depend on material things. The Grinch begins to understand the true meaning of Christmas, and his heart grows "three sizes." He brings everything back to the Whos and participates in the holiday feast.

Narrated in Judy's voice:

So, I wanted to remind everyone about the Grinch in case you had forgetten the true meaning of happiness at Christmas.  He couldn't steal what was in their heart and the true meaning of the Christmas spirit, only those materialistic things that only money can buy.

Our Grinch this year however, not sooooooo much the same way, listen in:

Unfortunately, three weeks before Christmas, and of course during the time that Bug is just getting out of the hospital and recuperating from an almost diabetic coma and spending 4 days in ICU, we find out that one of my jewelry boxes had close to $5000 dollars worth of my jewelry missing, to include my "original" wedding rings from Junebug that we actually got married with (of note, I have two wedding ring sets.  I have a white gold set and a yellow gold set...missing is the yellow gold with 1.5 carat total weight of diamonds).  Also missing is a 14k gold ring with a 1 ct Topaz setting with 2 diamonds on each side (my mother bought me this ring).  Another ring is one of my mother's own rings with sapphires and diamonds.  And, two pairs of 1/2 carat diamond earrings, one pair of which was the first piece of jewelry Junebug ever bought me!  He actually bought me both pairs!

"IN EVERY GOOD LIE IS A LITTLE BIT OF TRUTH."

Do we know who the Grinch is?  Of course we do.  Did they admit it, YES!  Have we recovered all my jewelry, NO!  Junebug has been to 3 different pawn shops that this person took him to, where some of my things are and some are not; others that don't even belong to me that were stolen from someone elses home, but which we had to pay for in order to recover my own things.  "Missing in action" are still my two pairs of diamond earrings, which I think we can write off ever seeing again.  I am almost sure that I will never recover them.

Since this has happened, I decided to do a little, okay A WHOLE LOT of research into this person's background in the last year or two.  It hasn't been pretty and things we suspected were pretty much true.  This person will end up in jail eventually, oh not because we called them but because they are out there breaking a lot of laws these days and you can only continue to run for so long.

I know what every single one of you are saying right now.  Why didn't we put this person in jail NOW?

It was our first thought, as I would have at least recovered the jewelry without having to pay for it.  And what couldn't be recovered, we could file in our homeowners insurance.  As the pawn shops told us, "if we prosecute, they prosecute."

After a lot of prayer, and thinking about what my mother would have wanted me to do, I have at this time chose not to make a police report.  I want to emphasize that at...this...time I have made this decision.  I am a woman and am entitled to change my mind without further notice!!

I would also like to say that this thieving behavior will not go un-noticed by a court of law in some other way, shape and form as well.  I certainly cannot go into detail about what current court proceedings we have undertaken at this time for the benefit of MY family in order to protect what is mine!

For those of you who know us well and for those of you who just follow along in my blog, facebook or twitter, it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who did this to us!

So with that being said, we still didn't let it ruin Destini's Christmas!  Nor did any of her Auntie's let it take away from their niece!  Though Bug has been without a paycheck for almost a month now, and we have drained our savings, there is no monetary value on what we will do for Destini.  It's true that the materialistic things we give her are not near as important as the way we love her every day and give her shelter and food and clothing, but this was our FIRST Christmas with Destini and no matter what, it was going to be special for her!  No Grinch could steal her Christmas!

Here's some shots of Camel Christmas 2010
